About Us

Each day Coast Access Radio produces unique radio shows in Kapiti and Horowhenua.  From Pukerua Bay to Tokomaru and across to Foxton, tune in to 104.7 daily. You can also live stream us from anywhere in the world from our website coastaccessradio and download your favourite shows on Apple, Spotify and TuneIn.

Our broadcasting facilities at our Studios in Mahara Place, and our recording hub in Levin, allows individuals and groups to make their own programmes either by themselves or with support from our technical team.

If you are interested in making a programme, having a conversation with us about the community or a topic you want to give a voice to, please contact us

Coast Access Radio is governed by a charitable entity called the Coast Access Radio Trust. We receive annual funding support from  NZ On Air, and we also rely on airtime contributions from users, grants, sponsorship, advertising and donations.

Coast Access Radio is one of twelve independent Access entities operating around New Zealand and is a member of the Community Access Media Alliance (CAMA).

We produce and broadcast programming that provides for the interests of specific groups in Section 36c of the Broadcasting Act 1989, which includes women, children, youth, persons with disabilities, minority groups and a range of religious or ethical viewpoints.

Coast Access Radio is by, for and about the Kapiti Coast and Horowhenua Community
