I am a vastly experienced award nominated radio broadcaster and have worked in a variety of formats over a 30+ year period. Recently, I was the Operations Manager, Breakfast Host and News Director at Beach FM radio, based in Paraparaumu, where I have been employed since 2003. My position was made redundant in June 2016. Prior to that I was the programme director, morning host and breakfast news reader on Radio 2XX, Paraparaumu. I have also worked in Masterton, Tauranga and Wellington commercial radio, as well as Access Radio in Wairarapa and Wellington.
I worked in the insurance industry (National Mutual) between 1980 – 1990 in a variety of clerical and administration roles.
My particular skills and interests are in current affairs, presentation, customer service, sports, programming, and music. Problem solving and mathematical tasks also highly motivate me.
In my spare time I’m an armchair sport supporter, and have been known to chase a cricket ball around a field in summer. I enjoy a good walk with someone I like a lot, and have a simple diet of meat, potatoes, some veges, pies, and olives. Pub quizzes have been known to also get me out of the house.
My mentor in the broadcasting world is Lindsay Yeo. We share dress sense and a desire to entertain and inform.
