Ken Young Brief Bio
I started out in the brass band world with my father and brother. Classical music beckoned from the age of 15 and by 20 I was Principal Tuba in the NZSO. Throughout my 25 years in the orchestra I continued to compose and conduct, to the point that in 2001 a resigned from the NZSO, and tuba playing, to pursue a free-lance career which has taken me all over the world. I also love teaching conducting and composition at the New Zealand School of Music at Victoria University. I live with my wife Dolly right here on the Kapiti Coast in Raumati Beach.
